Stuve, Dolan Singled Out for Member Recognition: December 2011

Commercial real estate developer and broker Jeff Stuve was recognized as Member of the Year at Friday’s awards luncheon of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association.

Described as “the heart and soul of the awards committee,” Stuve has portrayed Indiana Jones, Captain Kirk, James Bond and other characters in the campy theatrics used in NAIOP’s annual awards program.

On the serious side, he was the voice of the development community during the debate over Albuquerque’s impact fees in 2005, when he was NAIOP’s chair. He’s also chaired several of NAIOP’s key committees over the years.

In 2006, Stuve shared the national Governmental Affairs Building the Bridge Award from Washington, D.C.-based NAIOP, the local chapter’s parent organization, for lobbying at the state Legislature against a bill that would have allowed telecom providers free access to privately owned buildings.

In a presentation that sounded like he was also being named member of the year, outgoing NAIOP chair Drew Dolan was recognized for his year as head of the New Mexico chapter.

“I believe his greatest accomplishments have been in the legislative arena,” architect Dale Dekker told the luncheon audience in recognizing Dolan.

Dolan was credited with forming an effective Legislative Affairs Committee that made an impact during the legislative sessions as well as at state agencies.
